It’s officially pumpkin spice season and I’m 100% here for it (in both sweet & savoury dishes)! Bring on cozy sweaters, wool socks and pumpkin spice EV-ER-Y-THING. This tasty autumn flavour concoction is not just for fancy coffees anymore! Hope you enjoy these delicious & doable pumpkin spice recipes as much as I do!
Homemade Pumpkin Spice
You can purchase pre-made pumpkin spice, or make your own with fairly common pantry staple spices.
Tip: Take advantage of your local bulk food store for smaller amounts of spices.

- 2 tsp (10 mL) ground ginger
- ½ tsp (2 mL) each of ground nutmeg, ground cloves and ground cardamom
- ¼ tsp (1 mL) allspice
Directions
- Stir together all ingredients and store in a small glass mason jar.

Pumpkin Spice Muffins with Coconut Crunch Topping

I’m declaring this muffin recipe as: the recipe you didn’t know you needed! These muffins are moist, explode with flavour, and look as if you purchased them from your local bakery thanks to the crunchy coconut topping.

Char’s Warm Pumpkin Spice Sip
This warm & comforting sip is more or less a ‘pumpkin spice latte’ without the coffee and/or espresso and copious amounts of sugar, fat & calories. I like to sweeten my sip with molasses – a little goes a long way and I love the robust flavour. I also like to add a scoop of collagen powder (anything to help my fifty year old sagging skin…ha!), but it’s optional.
Serve warm or shake all the ingredients together in a mason jan and serve over ice.
Ingredients
- ½ tsp (2 mL) pumpkin spice
- 1 scoop (10 mL approx) unflavoured collagen powder
- 2 tsp (10 mL) Crosby’s Fancy Molasses (or to taste) – click here for product info
- 1 ½ cups (375 mL) unsweetened almond (or milk of choice)
Directions
- Place pumpkin spice, collagen powder and molasses in a large mug. Heat almond milk until desired temperature. Slowly whisk in milk until all ingredients are well combined. Sip & Enjoy!

Ginger Studded Pumpkin Spice Blondies

I’m an absolute sucker for a sweet & chewy blondie. The addition of pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice adds an autumn flare to these simple-to-prepare squares. Hope you love these pumpkin-spice-ginger-studded bars as much as I do!
Find candied ginger (sometimes referred to as crystallized ginger) at your local bulk food store (or in the baking section of the grocery store).
