About Me
Hi, I’m Charmaine.
I was ten years old when I fell in love with cooking and eating. The first recipe I created on my own was a Caesar salad dressing recipe (clipped from the newspaper) in my mom’s Cuisinart food processor. I smelled like garlic and anchovies for days, and had never felt so satisfied.
When I was in high school, I used to skip class and drive down to CTV (in Toronto) to watch live tapings of the Dini Petty Show. I was obsessed with live TV and production.
Fortunately, I was able to turn my love for cooking, eating, garlic and TV into a career (I credit hard work and grit).
A bit more about me and how I share my love for cooking with others:
- Host and produce ‘In Char’s Kitchen,’ YourTV Muskoka
- Proud author of ‘Delicious & Doable ~Recipes For Real and Everyday Life,’
- Teach cooking at The Creative Cook (in Braceridge, ON) and
- Former food writer for Running Room Magazine
I eat, play and talk about food for a living: that’s why I run!!
I’m blessed to live in Muskoka, Ontario with my husband Greg, two young-adult sons (Tyler & Colgan, both off at university) and two fur daughters – Pockets and Penelope.
